Resilience: Cultivating Peace with Nature
This year, Climate in the Pulpits, in the Minbar, & on the Bimah will begin and endure through the fall from September 1st – November 30th. The Theme for this year is “Resilience: Cultivating Peace with Nature.” We know that our world is suffering; pollution, exploitation of people and resources, and a changing climate full of worsening disasters seem ever looming on the horizon. But, there is hope! Time and again humanity has found peace in the face of adversity, in our faith, and with one another. It is time to pick one another up, and as people of faith, prioritize our tradition’s religious teachings to care for the earth and along with our neighbors.

We are delighted to invite faith communities across the commonwealth to participate in Climate in the Pulpits / in the Minbar / on the Bimah 2023! During this time we encourage faith communities to preach, teach, and act to elevate the importance of being good stewards with and for our neighbors in Creation.
We are inviting pastors, rabbis, imams, and all faith and spiritual leaders to schedule worship services, sermons, lessons, and/or a day(s) of action to address Creation care, climate, and environmental justice, and how we all can work together for our common home.
First-time participants? No worries, VAIPL will be scheduling opportunities to learn more, offer help with planning events, and we will share resources to help you prepare! Please keep watch for more information soon, and if you have questions, please feel free to contact us at contactus@vaipl.org.
