Reclaiming Our Future Together
Climate in the Pulpits, on the Bimah, in the Minbar begins on October 16, 2024, and ends on December 15, 2024. Our focus is Reclaiming Our Future Together.
Climate-related disruptions are an ever-increasing threat to the quality of life for all of Earth’s inhabitants, both now and in the future. If we are to live full, healthy lives, we must be willing to advocate for a just, thriving, and equitable world. It is more important than ever that people of faith hear this urgent yet hopeful message from their spiritual leaders.
We hope to reclaim our collective future by registering a record number of faith communities from every corner of the commonwealth to participate in Climate in the Pulpit, on the Bimah, in the Minbar 2024!
Although VAIPL encourages all faith communities to preach, teach, and act to elevate the importance of being good stewards with and for our neighbors in Creation throughout the year, we utilize this period from September to November to re-emphasize our role as believers in caring for Creation.
During this period, we ask pastors, rabbis, imams, and all faith and spiritual leaders to schedule worship services, sermons, lessons, and other events (i.e. A Day of Action) to address Creation care, climate, and environmental justice, and how we can all work together for our common home.
