VAIPL has been working in coalition with several organizations to learn more about the Header Improvement Project (HIP), which is looking like it will be the next large pipeline fight in Virginia.
The HIP is a proposal for:
- 3 new fracked-gas pipelines, totaling 24 miles, and
- 3 new or expanded gas compressor stations from Northern Virginia, through the middle of the state, and over to Hampton Roads.
Check out fact sheets that summarize the statewide and regional impacts of HIP, and feel free to link, print, and share these factsheets as you spread the word about Breaking HIP:
Use the interactive map created by our partners at Allegheny-Blue Ridge Alliance to zoom in on HIP’s proximity to communities across Virginia. This map was initially created to capture the project’s impact in Hampton Roads but it includes the entire, statewide route.
No HIP Activist Toolkit helps enormously to understand the dangers of this project and how to effectively voice against it for the betterment of all Virginians.
We also encourage you to watch this webinar hosted by the Pipeline Resisters and the Sierra Club Virginia Chapter.
