Avi is proud to join the team of VAIPL as a Climate Equity Policy Fellow. Due to his passion and experiences in wisdom-based peace education, he was moved to join the important work of VAIPL. He hopes to gain a deeper insight into building social change related to climate justice from a faith perspective. Avi has achieved an M.A. in Conflict Resolution and Mediation from Tel Aviv University and a B.A. in Religious Studies from VCU. He has held leadership positions in prominent non-profits and is very active in local and international peace efforts in the U.S. and Middle East. He spends his weekends relaxing and practicing Shabbat, along with lovely walks with his partner and dog and cooking delicious food. He has a passion for biblical languages such as Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, his connection to Judaism, and all things outdoors and gardening.
