Cynthia is a native of Mathews County and a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. She serves as director of the music ministry and co-director of the Youth/Young Adult Ministry. She is an educator in the Mathews County Public School division, where she serves as co-chair of the Career and Technical Education Department, Teacher Mentor, and sponsor of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America student organization. She serves as one of the original members/officers of Mathews Broadband Advisory Board (past
secretary), an initiative to bring connectivity to every household and business in the small rural county. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Hampton University and is pursuing a master’s degree in school Leadership and Supervision. Cynthia believes in the power and positive impact of service to
the community and looks forward to serving as a liaison between Virginia Interfaith Power and Light and faith communities to raise awareness and address resiliency concerns in coastal Mathews County.
