Elizabeth is excited to return to the VAIPL staff in her new role as Administrative & Office Manager. While pursuing her B.A. in journalism and a minor in sustainability studies at Messiah College, she learned of the call on people of faith to care for Creation and the urgent need to address climate change. After graduating in 2012, she answered this call with two years of service at IPL (DC.MD.NoVA) through the Lutheran Volunteer Corps and Discipleship Year and then three years of work at VAIPL to help relaunch the Virginia chapter. Elizabeth now lives in the small town of Louisa with her partner, Bryant Manrique, and their three cats. She spends most of her time with her extended family, outside in the garden or on the hiking trails, and eating tasty vegetarian meals made with local ingredients.
