Faith and Social Contract
America’s founders adopted a social contract that assumes people are self-interested and can make the natural world private property. In contrast, the world’s religions teach altruism and stewardship of God’s creation. What might a social contract founded on faith values look like? How would this affect our relationship with the natural world?
