We celebrate a win for our people, our home, and our Earth! The Keystone Pipeline XL Project has been cancelled. The Pipeline would have burned over 800,000 barrels of oil sands crude every day, severely harming our environment and worsening climate change. It also ran the risk of fouling the Missouri River and other waterways vital to Indigenous communities in the area.
As stewards of the Earth, there is no doubt that this cancellation is a win for our common home. In the words of Dallas Goldtooth, National Campaigner for the Indigenous Environmental Network, “We took on a multi-billion dollar corporation and we won! Keystone XL is dead! The People made this happen!”
