Rev. Shereka V. Hockaday

Reverend Shereka V. Hockaday is a dynamic minister, community advocate, and servant leader committed to justice, restoration, and empowerment. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics. After more than a decade of success in corporate leadership, Reverend Hockaday answered the call to ministry and earned her Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

She was ordained in 2018 at The St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, where she is a long-time member and active servant. Her passion for second chances has led her to dedicate over a decade of service in Virginia Women’s Correctional Facilities through the Virginia Center for Restorative Justice. There, she facilitates healing spaces that center on reducing recidivism, restoring dignity, and offering hope to those impacted by incarceration.

Reverend Hockaday is known for her authenticity, vibrant energy, and unshakable faith. Whether behind the pulpit, in classrooms, or within the community, she is guided by a mission to love deeply, educate intentionally, and empower those who are often overlooked. Her work reflects a profound commitment to lifting people, building stronger communities, and advancing transformative justice.
